In January 2025, BBC Newsround covered the Bath Abbey performance of Stardust for Children’s Mental Health Week.

The feature showcased 200 children performing this powerful musical journey, demonstrating how singing helps young people manage emotions and build confidence.

“When I sing I feel like I am in the music. Singing with lots of other children is really exciting and so much fun.”

Six Planets, Six Emotions

The Troll
Fear

The Troll

Phoenix fears a giant Troll, but the Troll lays down its finger as a bridge. What looked terrifying was kindness in disguise.

Fire
Anger

Fire

Ari believes their anger has set the world alight. But when friends arrive with a hug, the fires fade.

Lake of Tears
Grief

89% Increased Confidence
82% Better Performing
86% Enjoyment of Singing
“It gives a meaning to the feelings that people have. When I am angry, I land on the angry planet in my head… I think of one of the songs to help me get off the planet.”
