Sing Me Happy Birthday – Built From Scratch During Lockdown
I’m a musician, not a developer. But lockdown gave me time to learn. I taught myself Next.js and built the entire platform from the ground up. No templates, no shortcuts.
The hardest part? Uploading 850+ albums across 16 genres. That’s over 13,600 individual audio files. I wrote custom AutoHotKey scripts to automate the upload process – this was pre-AI, so every script was hand-coded.
Today, the platform features AI-powered face animation for our Singing Cards (your face, lip-syncing to the music), seamless name integration in the audio, and instant delivery via shareable links.
From Side Project to Global Happy Birthday Platform
