Description

Lament in December is a winter carol. The words were inspired by Robert Graves’ experience at the Battle of the Somme. Graves describes the death and stillness of winter setting in.

Listen to Lament in December

Philharmonia Voices sung Lament in December at the premiere of The Cool Web on October 30th 2014. The choir’s performance was sublime, so controlled and delicate.  Aidan Oliver (the director of PV) is meticulous during his choir only rehearsals.  He considers every sentance, syllable and word.
